About Chungdong FMC English Ministry Chungdong First Methodist Church is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. The Church was started by the American missionary, Henry Appenzeller. The English Ministry was formed in 1997 and launched its first service on the 1st Sunday of June in the historic Bethel Chapel. Through the years, the English Ministry has established itself as a spiritual home to both foreigners who live and work in Korea, as well as a number of English speaking Koreans who form the core of the ministry. The EM identifies itself as a networking and 'station' ministry. People from all over the world are coming and going continuously. It's like a station for those coming to Korea, live here for a year or two and then move on. EM is indeed not a static nor exclusive ministry, but sees itself as dynamic, new and inclusive. The doors of the ministry are always open to those who want to come and celebrate the life and ressurection of Christ and share the Word of God. Ministries Kid's Club We believe that kids are God's special gifts. The Kid's Club is a vibrant part of the EM. Dedicated members of the EM invest their time and skills in the lives of kids to teach them about the love of Christ. Indeed a place where kids can be part of the Christian community at Chungdong.
